Damaged Merchandise

All merchandise is carefully packaged and thoroughly inspected before shipment. The carrier, upon acceptance of the shipment, assumes full responsibility for its safe delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to initiate the process on all lost or damaged claims. Carriers require that all shipping cartons and packing materials be retained and made available for inspection. Although our responsibility ends when the carrier accepts the shipment, we will offer all possible assistance in helping to resolve a claim. Damages must be reported to SlatboxUSA within 10 working days upon receipt of shipment.

UPS: Immediately open and inspect your shipment. If damaged goods are received, hold carton and packaging and call UPS for an inspection. Require UPS to return the merchandise to us. Do not attempt to return the merchandise yourself.

Freight: If damaged goods are received via motor freight, note the number of cartons damaged or missing on the driver’s copy and your copy of the freight bill. Require the driver to sign both copies. If you notice damage after the shipment has been received, call the freight company immediately, report concealed damage, and request an immediate inspection. Send the freight company a letter confirming this request. Keep all merchandise in the cartons or crates. Do not throw away cartons or crates.

Shipping Errors

Please report any shipping errors to SlatboxUSA within 48 hours of receipt.

Shortages

Claims for merchandise shortage must be made in writing within 10 days of receipt of merchandise.

Returns

Returns will NOT be accepted without prior authorization from your Sales Representative. SlatboxUSA is under no obligation to accept merchandise returned without prior authorization. When we elect to accept a return of goods, those returns must be received within 15 days from the time of delivery and must be in original packaging. All authorized returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, which will be deducted from the return credit. Custom or special orders are not returnable and may not be canceled after raw materials have been ordered. Refused shipments are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
